Among the most beautiful beaches on Fehmarn are Burgtiefe-Südstrand and Gammendorfer Strand. Athletes and surfers, with or without a kite, will have a lot of fun here. However, remember to pay the local spa tax of currently €2.30 per day in advance to freely enjoy the beach. A very beautiful sight on Fehmarn is the Glambeck Castle Ruins. The remains of the medieval lowland castle made of brick tell a varied history. Only the four-meter-high foundation walls remain, but you can clearly see the moat and the rampart. A very special destination for music lovers is the memorial stone of the electric guitarist Jimi Hendrix. This place remains a popular meeting spot for fans of the late musician. The gifted guitarist performed on Fehmarn shortly before his death, which is why the 6.5-ton stone was erected in his honor. On rainy days, you can visit the swimming pool with a sauna and sea view. With various swimming pools, slides, and relaxation areas, fun for both adults and children is guaranteed.

Lighthouses serve as navigational aids for ships and sailors. On Fehmarn, you can visit five of these maritime guides. Strukkamphuk was built in 1872 and is the oldest of the towers. You can only reach it from the Fehmarnsund Bridge. Flügge is the tallest tower on Fehmarn. It is the only one you can climb. In good weather conditions, you can see all the way to the mainland. The lighthouses of Marienleuchte, Staberhuk, and Westermarkelsdorf complete the nostalgically romantic quintet on the Schleswig-Holstein coast. Another highlight on Fehmarn is the Grüner Brink Nature Reserve located on the north coast – a great destination for an excursion. The dune landscape and inland lakes immediately make you dream, and your child disappears into the dune grass. From here, you can already see the ferry port of Puttgarden. A similar destination is the ten-hectare Waterfowl Reserve Wallnau. From an observation tower, you have a good view over the bird sanctuary. The diversity of species is impressive. The Submarine Museum "U 11" in Burgstaaken features its decommissioned namesake submarine, which is also the landmark of Burgstaaken. The museum is open from March to October, with adults paying €9 and children up to 14 years paying €6 for admission.
